Click Your Cleats Together Three Times…There’s No Place Like Home

HighHeelCleats

Is it a cleat? Yes. Is it a high heel? Yes. Are they available in a size 7? I don’t know. I don’t think I want to know. If you click these cleats together three times though and repeat the phrase “there’s no place like home” they will not magically bring you safely to home plate (perhaps if they were red?).

I grew up in the early to mid 90’s. Anyone else remember your classmates stealing bowling shoes from local bowling alleys and wearing them to school? I never understood that shoe selection and I’m not quite sure it can even considered a 90’s fad. I mean, seriously, rented, dirty, hideous, two-toned (often)…does one wear them with the tuck-and-rolled jeans or with a skort? Yuck, leave them on the shelf.

I am planning my 20-year class reunion in fact with a fun and productive committee (did you do the math to figure out how old this belle is?).Β The end of June we will walk down memory lane in comfortable shoes. I am fairly certain I won’t be shopping for any type of heel for the semi-formal dinner but definitely not this one. My baseball passion is deep and I could use some height because I’m only 5’2″…but no thanks.

While watching Major League Baseball, I do closely observe what the players are wearing from their sunglasses, cleats, necklaces and more. Hey, I am female, these accessories are important! I could tell you what most of the Detroit Tiger’s players wear for both home and away games-especially Miguel Cabrera and Jose Iglesias πŸ˜‰

Well, I gotta run (in slippers) and I need to find my fanny pack.

No Crying Nor Lace In Baseball…Only Leather For My Style Of Baseball Glove

I prefer a unique style of my own just as much as the next gal (or guy) but some things aren’t meant to hang in my closet! And to be quite honest, I’m sporting sweats and a t-shirt presently as I type-cool and comfortable, that’s my style.

I was Googling “unique baseball gloves” today online and came across some memorable mitts. I found I am partial to anything with a vintage flair to it as far as to acquire and not actually use it. My preference on gloves to actually use? I’m not completely sure yet, but I’ll keep you posted. While I am female, my style isn’t to wear anything too girly so no pink mitts unless it’s a special one to support breast cancer awareness πŸ™‚ And no lace, I’m not a fan of lace.

vintage-handball-gloves

How amazing are these vintage 1926 leather handball gloves by Ken-Wel? These I would proudly place in my coffee & consignment shop I am planning to open in Marshall, MI as decor only-NOT FOR SALE! Beautiful condition and I love the look. An immaculate, historic home built in 1898 is my hopeful location for the store but God’s going to have to work a miracle for that to happen-keep the faith! These gorgeous gloves would look fantastic sitting right beyond the counter I have planned in front of a wooden maple fireplace, on the mantel.

I believe my baseball (ok, softball) glove of choice to use in a game would have a similar look to these. (No lace, only leather). I’ll keep searching and I’ll post my top 3 choices just before the 2015 MLB All-Star Game. Remind me, hold me to this, I could forget, I am approaching 40-years-young πŸ˜‰ If you would like to send me your favorite style of baseball gloves, please do! I will give you a shout out mention on Twitter and here on the unveiling of my 3 favorites if I choose yours.

It’s great to be back with all of you! I am truly touched by all of the messages I received while away from this website. Thank you for your support and love and following me.

Go Tigers! (yeah I’m Belle of Baseball…but ya’ll know my passion is for Detroit)

Riding the Pine and Don’t Mind

RIding the Pine and Don't Mind

Bench your behind in style in this unique chair for the baseball fanatic. The creator combined bats and a couple of bases in the seat area for comfort.
What do you think? Would you put this at your home field in your man cave, sports-themed room or rec room?
I personally think it’s clever, stylish and well it’s BASEBALL so what’s not to like? However, I think this unique chair isn’t built for comfort but more for conversation πŸ™‚

Yeah…I’d Tote That

Yeah...I'd Tote That

The smell of a quality, leather handbag is like a fine perfume to this baseball gal’s nose. But how much BETTER would it’s scent be and with how much MORE STYLE would I have, as I tote this BASEBALL GLOVE HANDBAG??
LOVE IT. WANT IT.
But would I take on the challenge of making one for myself? Hmmm. I have made a handful of repurposed handbags/totes/purses but I don’t know…

For now the only way for me to ‘swipe this bag’ is by cash or charge.

Later this summer, I will share the baseball style bags I have created.

Relaced Love,

Perfecting Your Pitch by Providing Repurposed Products of Your Passion

Truly, there is something nostalgic about listening to a ball game on the radio while I sew, paint or write from home. Although I do LOVE attending MLB games (Detroit Tigers in particular at Comerica Park), watching the bulk of the 162 regular season games from my couch at home is preferred.

Being a stay at home momma is a gift. Those precious years before we send our children to school pass by so quickly. Needless to say, my heart, as well as my hands I use to create handbags, canvas paintings and ‘words of art’ via freelance writing, both abide in my home.

The last five years I have pursued countless online employment opportunities. All making little to no money BUT I gained much knowledge in online marketing, SEO, website design, writing…list goes on. I still had this nudge to create my own online business. I knew I could attain it but to do so I had to keep trying and not just give up on it!
For the past year, I went with the ol’ reliable method of reselling items on eBay. Brings a smile to my face to sell new and used clothing items to people for a good bargain. I have focused primarily on women’s/women’s plus size and children’s clothing and have had good success and established myself thus far. Upon purchasing a pair of name brand jeans, I unknowingly bought them with a hole-in the crotch, of course πŸ™‚ There wasn’t much I could do with them honestly so my mind began imagining what I could create from them and gave them a new purpose:

I made a purse, by hand, no sewing machine at all and I still use it to this day. I hesitantly yet more confidently thought “I can do this”…”I can continue to do this from unwanted clothing…”
My creativity exploded and I made a handful of purses repurposed from clothes within only a few weeks time. I of course pulled my sewing machine out for these and haven’t looked back since. I did however, pause. Why?
baseballgripflameAs a pitcher in baseball steps off the rubber on the mound to gather himself and make the next pitch, I decided to continue throwing my cutter fastball (repurposed handbags from unwanted clothing)-you know, stick with what works! However, I decided to add a two-seam fastball to my creative arsenal, creating baseball-inspired handbags in three different styles.

***ONLY LARGE TOTE AVAILABLE CURRENTLY, 2 MORE DESIGNS TO COME!*** (see Etsy store grid on left)

My customers can choose a main navy or red striped ticking material and then a lining color as well, which will also be pockets and top edge trim. I wanted to keep it simple yet customizable; understanding of people’s different likes/dislikes. ( I reserve the right to choose this coordinating design but will be in customer’s color choice) πŸ™‚

Having the freedom to work from my humble abode has it’s home field advantages. Every ‘fastball’ I throw is intended to make an impression. I strive to maintain and improve each part of the creation process and with each product I make. Combining my passion of baseball with my creative outlets of design, sewing, painting and writing is extremely fulfilling.

Thank you for being here as I grow from a rookie online entrepreneur to whatever God has in store for me the rest of this season and hopefully many more to come!
